Title: commant to display amount of RAM
Post by: juris on 19 March 2002, 23:49
How can i get to know the amount of RAM on my machine? Is there some kind of shell command. I'm asking this cause gkrellm shows 78-80 megs of RAM, although I know that I have 96. So I was wondering maybe my FreeBSD hasn't found some 16megs  :(

Any suggestions?

So are you running FreeBSD? There are many ways to do this but a useful command that will give you much more info that just the amount of physical memory is "top". Try typing it on the command line and see if you have it installed.
