Title: Vector Linux 3.0
Post by: DJ on 30 January 2003, 08:59
I just installed VL 3.0 and I can get it to boot fine and everything but my mouse does not work so I need to edit my config file. I tryed emacs and pico (the only ones I know of) but I keep getting a command not found. Help a newbie out, is there a 'default' text editor that installs with this distro  that anyone knows of or a default editor that installs with all/most Linuces that I may use?

I figured out to use vi and on another board someone recommended I try mcedit or nano as they are both easier than vi. thanks for the responses everyone.

BTW if anyone is looking to try another lightweight distro for older/slower machines I recommend Vector Linux, besides this mouse thing it was very easy to install and works surprisingly fast on my machine, Packard Bell Multimedia 730 PII 266 w/48mb RAM.

thanks again

vi takes time to get used to but it's worth that.
mc isn't a good deed and it's not certainly installed on every system.
