Title: uninstall packages with webmin

i wane to erase my old xmms and mplayer and install a fresh one.  so would it be safe to search for those two and remove the packages that webmin finds?

Just try installing the new packages over the top of the old ones, any dependencies should be handled.  Is it an rpm distro like Red Hat / Mandrake / Suse a deb distro like Debian / Lindows or an "other"?

i was going to install from the source, i haven;t had much luck with rpms when it comes to xmms and mplayer.  but i'll try a overwrite over the old installation.

i'm using redhat btw
