i wane to erase my old xmms and mplayer and install a fresh one. so would it be safe to search for those two and remove the packages that webmin finds?
-
why not just use upgrade?
-
Just try installing the new packages over the top of the old ones, any dependencies should be handled. Is it an rpm distro like Red Hat / Mandrake / Suse a deb distro like Debian / Lindows or an "other"?

i was going to install from the source, i haven;t had much luck with rpms when it comes to xmms and mplayer. but i'll try a overwrite over the old installation.
i'm using redhat btw
