ok i was surfing the net and found a website that required windows media player. so for the hell of it i clicked the link and it whisked me away to macrosoft's website and tried to tell me that my linux box was running solaris, i just find this amusing for some odd reason

Oddly enough MS has a version of IE 5 for Sun Workstations, however I have yet to find a way to get it to work on linux.

that's 'cos it's probably closed source crap, why bother?
Did you care about getting that shit AIX port of internet exploder working in linux? it's a waste of time and effort.
The reason they do this is to try and suck up to the unix people so they won't feel 'left out', and also to try and sell M$ products to as many people as possible, also to make the word Microsoft appear in more places, for purposes of free advertising.

what are you talking about? isn't that what winblows mediocre player is supposed to do?
Oh I understand! maybe you mean it didn't send all your personal details back to Microsoft like it's supposed to do! did you check your firewall settings? (http://honeybug.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif)
