I'm pretty sure this is impossible, but is there
any way to use msn messenger (not necessarily
that program, but something like trillian)?

center-icq is a ncurses based terminal messenger application with support for msn messenger (and icq, and aim and yim)

do a search on freshmeat ... don't know the url by heart

what? you mean in a non-M$ system? X11 does it, wait till he answers. I gather he uses wine to run trillian which behaves as it should do in Microsoft windows. M$Nmessmaker probably could not run using wine as it refuses to even install unless you have internet exploder on yr machine (which you won't have if running a unix)...

I hadn't realized MSN actually got some servers for MSN Messenger. The last few times I tried to log on, the servers were down more often than that of the old ICQ...
