Can someone please tell me:
1) How do you pronounce "SuSE"? S-U-S-E? suse? susy?
2) Does SuSE mean anything? Or just a name? Why is the "u" underscore?
-
isnt it "S"-"u"-"S"-"e". I beleive you pronuance each letter
-
It is pronounced "sew-see"
-
I have heard peopel say 'soos'
-
I don't really know if SuSE stands for something in particular, but I believe that it's pronounced like a single word (SUSE) since it's a German distro.
-
On Revolution OS, I believe that Linus, the guys at Red Hat, and the guys at SuSE pronounced it like: "Soo-Suh." I always thought is was "Soo-See" like the girl's name, but that is how they all pronounced it.
-
I think SuSE stands for "Software und System Entwicklung". I've always pronounced it "suzy", and only ever heard others pronounce it that way too. (Not that it's a word you hear all that often.)
-
well no wonder the 'u' is lowercase then! thanks for ironing that out.
-
quote:
"Software und System Entwicklung"
Heh, heh, you said "Entwicklung" heh, heh, heh.
-
since it is German if they pronounced it as a word it would be sew-suh like porsh uh.
also for anyone that cares, Entwicklung means development.
