I noticed that mepis linux isn't linked to on the front page of the website under free alternatives! This is perhaps one of the sleekest versions I've ever used. All the power of debian, and all the user friendliness of Mandrake and it's ilk.

I'm aware of it, a friend of mine is actually using Mepis and he pointed it out to me.
I'll see what I can do (http://smile.gif)

Mepis has come an ubelievably long way in a very short amount of time. I did beta on the first version it was a little "not working good", and the newest version "simply mepis" is kickass, it's like the difference between night and day. The hardware compatibility alone and it's willingness to actually work bugfree on laptops earn it the distinction of top distro in my mind.

Just don't make my mistake by running Emerde against it. It's a miracle my laptop works AT ALL.
