Title: Looking for a fast FTP server with an ISO of Mandrake
Post by: Interscope on 24 April 2002, 00:48
I need an ISO because here in the Netherlands it's hard to get Mandrake from a store. And money problems are another reason  ;)  And this FTP server where i'm getting it from ATM isn't fast... only 10kbs. If it suceeds i'll finally wont have to sit behind the comp and try to make room on my harddrive because the crappy windows saves alot of unused and unwanted shit.

are you sure your internet connection can handle a high bandwith?
Whats your connection?
what country are you in?

i have always found german servers to be the fastest, even though i am in canada.
I got 80 kb/s from ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/mandrake/iso/ (http://ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/mandrake/iso/)
and i'm halfway around the world from there.

I got 130 kb/s from ftp://ftp.ciril.fr/pub/linux/mandrake/iso/Mandrake82-cd1-inst.i586.iso (http://ftp://ftp.ciril.fr/pub/linux/mandrake/iso/Mandrake82-cd1-inst.i586.iso)

i'm on cable, With most dutch server i get 150-200kbs, so I wouldn't worry to much about me not being able to handle that. Thanks, i'll try them, and maybe you'll see a post about me being happy that i got mandrake installed tommorow.

edit: This french server is resuming my slow one, yay!
