Title: Chat client...
Post by: TheGreatPoo on 8 December 2002, 07:19
Hello fellow Mac gods!

I was wonderin where I could find a good Mac chat client.  Preferably one that will cross-network with ...say...AIM, Yahoo, and IRC.  I heard that AT&T IM is pretty good but have no idea where to find it (not on downloads.com or version tracker, etc.).

Any help is rewarded with a candy bar!  (http://tongue.gif)

OH!  Forgot to mention, I know Apple has iChat but I don't have OSX.  I am using classic (OS 9.1).

Mozilla chat is your friend for IRC. There is AOL IM at the AOL site, and Yahoo at the Yahoo site.

*shudder*  I hate AIM.  I haven't tried Yahoo but I don't know that many people that use it.  I forgot that Mozilla comes with a chat client.  Thanx for reminding me!

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/email_chat/fire.html (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/email_chat/fire.html)

Oops. I didn't notice the classic part. I THINK there's an OS 9 version. Anyway, as always your best bet is a Version Tracker search for "chat."

I don't think you have much of a choice rather than to run separate clients; that is, unless odium(sp?) has a Classic client.
