Title: Panther TextEdit and .DOC?
Post by: M51DPS on 19 July 2003, 01:23
I found an article (http://apple.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/07/17/1434248) that said the Panther version of TextEdit can open microsoft word documents, is this true?

its true.  But its very very bad.  My header appeared at the very end of the document, and I also had the .doc set to show my last name and the page number in the very top right of every page.  It showed this centered, in bigger font and above the header on the very last page.

Still has much work to be done.

Still, hopefully it will be really good in the final version. This reminds me of AntiWordService (http://www.devon-technologies.com/freeware.php).
