So Sophoros is releasing OS X anti-viral protection:
Sophoros (http://www.net-security.org/press.php?id=1533)
How many have you guys 'n gals ever had a Mac virus. I had one once in the mid 90's. That's it, never experianced anything else.
That's not to say that there won't be breaches in the future or I've just been lucky. It's obvious that OS X is far more capable of protecting itself (by design) agains such naughtyness, as opposed to other OS's we could mention. If that is going to change is another question.

well, it could be to keep you from spreading virii. even if the virii doesn't do anything to your system, since most are written for windows anyways, you can still spread them, and cause damage to other peoples computers.

the only time my comp has been fucked is either when I do something stupid to the startup disk, or one time when the hard drive just went completely fucked I think it was caused by limewire though

"Virii" is not a word. (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=virii)
"Who the hell would write a virus for OSX? The OS is 'flicted enough as is!"
Not you that's for sure.

"Virii" is not a word. Shut the FUCK up you stupid l337 haxor and quit using butchered internet english. Thank you.
'Virus' is a Latin word, you ignorant dolt. In English, the Latin plural is preferred for Latin words. 'Virii' is the Latin plural for 'Virus', as 'Fora' is the plural for 'Forum', and 'Media' is the plural for 'Medium'. Learn some languages; it's very useful.

we have had the virus-virii debate on this forum before.
-
First, I said PREFERRED, not obligatory. It is tolerated to say 'viruses', but 'virii' is considered better usage, as I've been taught in college. Don't blame me, I didn't create the English language.
If it is of any interest, in French it is considered good usage to use the French plural for foreign words. As such, we say << des spaghettis >>, while 'virus' as in << des virus >> is invariable. But since the main language of this Forum is English, it is best to follow the rules of the English language.

if i knew another language, i would be sure to post only in that language, just to piss x11 off. :D
-
i would be better if actually knew the language(s).
-
Could someone re-delete X11's posts and get this thread normal again? I agree, virii.
