uh.. anyone looking to pick up an old iBook? its a 330mhz with i think 196 megs ram, and a 6 gig harddrive. i will install whatever os you want on it (os9, jaguar, mandrake8.2.....) and send the install cds with it. i still have all of the documentation that came with it, the power adapter, and a black case for it. im asking $500, but that is shooting high. the price is def negotiable.

Im interested... I have no idea how much to offer though. Could someone please post what is reasonable price for it?
From Macman / Ecsyles posts I take it that the appropriate price is between $70 and $500 (http://smile.gif)
One other point I will be able to get it no sooner than a month from now...
edit : how fast is a mac 330 or whatever with that much ram anyway? Any network adaptors in it?

Okay, $71, but not a penny more!!!!!

I have no compulsion about pennies. $71 *and* a penny more! (beats macman at least...)
lol
actually pennies are probably so old now that they may be worth a lot... 5 cents instead? :D

Id say 200-350.... Id personlay offer $350, because even though it's slow, to me, you can never have enugh hardware. Especially laptops.
So Faust, if your interested at picking this baby up as an introductory Mac, let me say, with a bit more RAM it will make a VERY slow, OS X machine. It will make an excellent OS 9 machine, and it will run Yellow Dog Linux adequetly.
But if I were you, Id spend the money on a G4 from eBay, cuz G4's all run OSX great, even the 400Mhz models. I never liked G3's.

ok thanks for the advice psyjax.
sorry ecsyle... :(
anyway like he said "you can never get enough laptops" and you would probably be able to get a better price than I could afford anyway...
-
yeah. i actually put it on ebay for $350.
it did run jaguar pretty decently. slow. but bearable. right now i have mandrake8.2 on it, which runs very well.
