Title: My iPod Arrived
Post by: billy_gates on 14 June 2003, 04:43: I recieved my iPod from FedEx today, works perfectly. However, the LCD seems a bit discolored. Not a big deal, can barely see it with light off, can't see it at all with light and its not a color screen so color variation doesn't really matter.

Hmmm... that sounds bad. My dad's iPod is nice and crisp. Maybe you should send it back and have them give you a new one.

its not blured, it looks like if u took a calculator and pressed on the screen until the colors changes, only very slightly and only in certain lighting conditions at certain agnles., I can't send it back right now, need it, but maybe when I get back from vacation I'll give them a call.

ahhh, u got the big one. I wanted to get the 30, and I could easily cost justify it (3 times as much space, a dock, a remote for only 200 more), but it was still too much.

Have fun with urs. I am with mine.

there used to be. When the new ones first came out, all of the stores, except the Apple Stores, discounted them and sold them. I checked at my CompUSA and they had already sold them all after slashing the prices.

Check EBay, there are a lot of iPods on ebay.

Post by: iaingeorge on 16 June 2003, 03:04: I have the new 15Gb version and i have noticed the same thing with mine. It gets especially bad when i expose it to temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius. Ehh hopefully the 2.1 firmware update will fix it all when it comes out.

They sold out fast, but they might get more in.

Post by: billy_gates on 17 June 2003, 02:11: I phoned Apple just now and in 15 minutes "we don't want to waste any more of your time, we'll just replace it." So I'm going to an Apple store, hopefully tomorrow to get it replaced. I love Apple Tech Support. Never had any problems with them.
