Does anybody know why this is "temporarily unavailabe" (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120244)?
-
It was pulled. There were ethernet problems with some G4s.
Everything's fine on my two updated G3s.

According to Mac Rumors (http://www.macrumors.com) the majority users had no problems, but there are reports of it causing booting problems on the iMac/eMac and internet problems with some G4s. It reminds me a bit too much of when microsoft released a patch that killed internet connections.

Apple has an article (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107669) about the issue and affected systems.

Wow do I have a lot of posts in this topic. Anyway, Apple has released the updated update.
Mac OS 10.2.8 Update (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosxupdate_10_2_8.html)
Mac OS 10.2.8 Update, if updated before the patch was pulled (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosxupdateethernetandbatterypatch.html)

Thanks, found the update on Apple's site yesterday.
