PB G3 233
160 MB RAM
Jaguar 10.2.3 (Only happened in 10.2, 10.2.1 and 10.2.2 I haven't seen it in 10.2.3)
Does anyone know what the cause of this is? Never happened in Mac OS 8 or 9. Usually I force shutdown the computer and it goes away, but it is very annoying.
Here's what it looks like (~600 KB)

Does it just happen randomly? Or when you plug in another monitor or run a certian app or something like that?

Just randomly on some startups

is that a screenshot taken from inside the computer or was that a camera picture.
If it was a screenshot there is something wrong with your video card (bad)
If it was a photo there is either something wrong with your video card or display (bad)
That really sucks Man. If you ever feel the need to remove crap of such a minor sort from your presence send it to me (i'll even pay the shipping)

Download and install the new upgrade. It fixes issues with old ATI cards, this may be what is causing the problem. As I understand it your pbook isn't even officially supported. Don't sweat it, I think the upgrade will fix it.

My PowerBook is supported. It is a Wallstreet, not the original PBG3 aka Kanga. I haven't had any problems since the upgrade, but I've only restarted my computer once since then.

Fuck. It just happened in OS X 10.2.3 now...
The corruption varies though. Sometimes it's not as bad, and other times half the screen is black and the other half is horrible.
