quote:
Zombie:
I Lick balls
i knew it!!!. dirty.
-
One has to ask why we were gone?
-
yes, i am intrigued...
-
I'm curious as to why zombie put the devil-smile in this post. Something you want to admit about FMS being down?
(And note to everyone, in case this thread turns into a trolling, DONT RESPOND TO HIM!!)
-
i am curious as well
-
who is this.. this Zombie???
anyways. I am also curious as to why the forums were down. They were gone for quite some time :(
-
hmmmm...
i do find it hard to believe that zombie would have "just happened" to come back as soon as it is up.
lol zombie is a 1337 h4xx0r 5sc|2ip+ |<||)|)'/
-
Zombie?? Zombie who??
Anyway, does anyone here know why the forums were down for that long?
-
Yeah, why is zombie back? I hope he didn't have anything to do with the outage. Anyone know?
-
I say he's a witch! may we burn him?

Distributed denial of service attack. The first ever in the site's history. At its peak, over 1,000 hosts were flooding the box.
There's a couple of suspects. The investigation has begun. (http://smile.gif)
-
so lets say that bitch zombie did it, and its proven, what course of action can be taken?
Then again i am asking a question that, that bitch zombie shouldnt see the answer.

I belive Zombie has been the one behind this, because he threatend to do it to the Cult of bob server a while ago, he always uses a proxy to join here, and im going to host a contest...
Whoever can find the most information on Zombie
([email protected], thanks webmaster) will be the winner!!!
-
hmmm....sounds good to me man!

start here:

look, why don't you all get over this fetish you have about zombie90210? he cannot move on, that is his problem, i credited the rest of you with better.
If you all want to continue this handbaggery with zombie90210, then i suggest strongly that you do it at PlanetHardware (http://www.forumplanet.com/profile/index.asp?u=5910245) and not here.
His real name appears to be 'Walt W.' by the way, not that i give a shit, i don't know why you all waste your energy.

Hmmm, I don't suppose that one of them might be related to the person that flipped the power switch at the old colo would it? (http://smile.gif)
-
Yeah, like Zombie was behind the DoS attacks. Don't give this guy more credit than he deserves (if he deserves any at all). Anyway, like voidmain wrote, it could very easily be the same guy who flipped the switch about a month ago or anyone else but what difference does that really make? The forums are back up, we're back so let's do some serious posting shall we?

for a start look at what he replyed to this thread, if he didnt do it he would have said "ErRRRRrRRZerZ U AnTI mZ peopilz Sux()r and kant keep a forUm up." not that angry face.
and why would he come here right after it was back up, he was the 2nd reply/messege.
If you cant see that then your blind.
Also check his posts, after that he posted nothing else, except that other 1 liner.
Also he snorts cocain.
But no worry, i found a post that was not from a proxy and told his ISP about it, gave them details. He is on a Wireless broadmand connection as well for your information.
-
I just got an email from joink.
I think i just made Zombie loose an ISP account.
hehehehehehehe!
-
Well lets, see. It could be related to the guy who switched us off, but I put forward this.
Times are hard in this economic climate. Many companies are realizing that they can make big savings in the IT sector, and to do it they just need a little bit of advise, a small kernel of knowledge that shows them the way out of a percieved dominated field.
They are realizing all their eggs are in one basket, and that company refuses to pay dividends to its share holders, which is often a first sign of trouble in the finances. secondly they realise the owner of that company could walk away tommorrow and close the company down, and they would have no legal protection for getting their systems running, they could not keep their systems running for any extended period of time. And they are getting fed up with the instability of the system.
They have come to realize that there is a site where information can be had for the cost of posting a polite question or two about converting, where the posters are smartish, give you information that is often verifiable, are prepared to argue their corner in a factual way and, will require no financial gain and will back up their claims. And what is more they are prepared to offer altenatives, not just one solution. The name of that site is fuckmicrosoft.com, and it is concievable that a certain company might have a grudge against such a good site as that.

possibly... let's not run off half cocked though, which is what this thread has been about so far.
This is one small part of the reason why i think we will see more FMS downtime in the future.
-
I should point out as a disclaimer, I accuse no-one. I am merely postulating on ideas of a paranoid nature (I am a PKD reader after all), which are based on no evidence and are therefore not to be accepted as anything claiming to be truth.
I make no accusations and offer no explainations as I DO NO KNOW who was responsable for this apparent attack upon this good forum.

Zombie never accomplished doing anything to the Bob server.

WHO
CARES????
why don't all of you start a 'we love talking about zombie90210' forum on your own and all go there instead of here? he sure has succeeded in becoming a celebrity.
You just can't resist talking about him, can you?

And a good reason for maintaining the secondary forum.

What, you dont care that he knocked the site offline.
-
he didn't fucking knock the site offline okay!!!!!!
not only that but you feed his ego every time you talk about him and that is why he comes back! some of us don't like having the zombie influence around, look at this thread for instance. he's barely posted in here and at least half the posts are shit purely because of him! you guys give him the almost supernatural ability to fuck up threads of discussion!
-
Its ironic that nobody even *GASP* thinks that it was Microsoft who took us down! (http://smile.gif)
-
imagine if it was microsoft that did it, and the proof was leaked to several media sources. That would be funny. PLenty of publicity for this site and a slap to the face of microsoft.
"i forgot what we were talking about. "

 I would recommend you read page two of this thread. Some of us actually like discussion on subjects of relevance. And if you have further ideas to add then this would be the thread for them.

My void site got a couple of hits from microsoft.com about the same time the forums went down. Maybe you are on to something here... (http://smile.gif)
-
"When some people at the government think it's OK to DoS an illegal P2P network, it's OK then for us to DoS fuckMicrosoft.com" -Some employee at Microsoft thought
-
Now I have 2 words: GROW UP!
If you want to figure out whodunit, go buy Clue, OK?
As for the whole Zombie thing, don't add fuel to the fire, OK? As much as he may be gone permanently thanks to John/X11.
Would a mod please lock this?
-
Apart from the fact that it was Calum. (http://smile.gif)
The fact that Microsoft did it could exist, and i do remember many people accusing Zombie of being a Microsoft Worker.
I just dont/wont give up.
I also contacted his ISP, who claim they will "monitor" for "suspission" (1 second irc sessions to tell the bot farms to ping fuckmicrosoft.com with 60k packets) and things.
But i think its intugeing that Voidmain got hits from Microsoft.com just before the attack.
-
Actually I believe it was right after or during the forums being down, and it was only two hits from two different Microsoft addresses (obviously two of their firewall addresses):
131.107.3.84 - - [06/Jan/2003:15:26:45 -0600]
"GET /icons/blank.gif HTTP/1.0" 200 148 "http://voidmain.kicks-ass.net/redhat/"
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705)"
131.107.3.85 - - [06/Jan/2003:15:26:44 -0600]
"GET /redhat/ HTTP/1.0" 200 3451 "http://newsforge.com/newsforge/03/01/06/1417226.shtml?tid=23" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705)"
And as you can see they were web browser hits (.NET machines ICK) and referred from newsforge. They got out quickly and didn't actually look around. A real shame, they might have learned something. Must have been his Gatesness. (http://smile.gif)
What's interesting is that they must be load balancing outgoing connections because this was one click of a browser going to "http://voidmain.kicks-ass.net/redhat/" resulting in two hits (one for blank.gif and the other for the directory listing) and each hit came from a different address.
The two addresses resolve to:
tide84.microsoft.com
tide85.microsoft.com

DO NOT LOCK THIS THREAD, i don't give a shit about zombie,if it was him. well, i think 5 or so days of outage would be considered over 5k of damages
-
could sombody nmap those hosts from a remote acount/*if you have a shell acount at mysite, THAT DOESN"T COUNT*/ why don't we post this on slashdot, maybe what happened to ralsky /*the spamer who got his house location posted their*/ will happen to these bastards, and look at a bunch of other projects that are getting dosd, like slackware. it just doesn't add up. and if it is microsoft. hell, sombody need to talk to the slackware team and see if any stuff comes up. their was anohter place that was dos'd but i don't remember it
-
There is no way that it was Microsoft. That would be suicide. Now it's possible that an MS employee could have rallied the troops but I seriously doubt it. For one, they probably wouldn't know how. For two, they are too busy building hidden games into their Office apps.
-
hehee, that eliminates one canidate....
