I wish I had the video of me landing on my head trying to do this:

Nac Nac (http://www.nacnac.com/baronafotos/pages/DSC_1142B.htm)

Would have been great for Real TV. And I might have had a chance to see what I did wrong so when I try it next time (when I finish healing) I hopefully won't make the same mistake twice.

My crappy dialup doesnt like your 14 meg video ... wish i could see it, i skateboard too.
Today, i found a new way of doing a pop shove-it.

Here's how:
 - stand kickflip style
 - ollie, and shove your front foot VERY fast towards the 'kickflip' edge of your deck.
 - if you have then flipped your deck halfways (wich should be automaticly because of your foot's placing) kick it back 180 (or even 360, if you're fast) in a halve cicrle, that your nose will be at the place where your tail was when you started to ollie(that is, if you do the 180). Dont forget to flip the deck back with a halve heelflip, but that should go automaticly.

You then have some kind of wierd pop shove it, but because you go all the way up to your nose, you can leap quite high. And it looks *very* strange  :D

I probably get as much height as what McGrath is getting in that picture maybe higher, it's hard to tell from the picture.  I probably had about 10' under my wheels before landing on my head (which is actually pretty high, it's about like jumping over a basketball hoop).  The big X-Games jumpers probably only get between 10 and 15 feet from the top of the jumps which themselves are around 15 feet high so the total would be around 30 feet. But when you land on a 15' down ramp it's really not that big of a deal, all the air between the jumps is what makes it look impressive.

Of course I am certainly not at *that* level and I drool all over myself when watching those guys jump. I would love to try it some day although I'm getting pretty old to be doing that sort of stuff. When landing on flat ground you really don't want to get over about 10 feet or you'll break either you or the bike fairly easily when landing (in my case it was me). If you got a good down ramp, landings are nice and smooth (as long as you hit the down ramp that is).

Here's the full list of tricks I want to learn:

Am I too old?

Lol im such a (INSERT SLANG NON-COOL WORD HERE).

That video was awesome, but I coulden't help wonder where the hell your helmet, knee, and elbow guards were. I must not think like todays youth.

I was also thinking how I could never skateboard, even when I lost my fat, I could never skateboard. The bigger you are the harder you fall, and boy would I be spending alot of time falling. Well I suppose it would greatly train my balance. Perhaps i'd have an advantage cuz I would be willing to wear my safety gear.  (http://smile.gif)

Seems skateboarders aren't large, which makes sense. That's also why I don't jump around, perfectly happy with a stable field of gravity.

excellant idea. I have an idea to start my own Bob tv show. It will run on antenna. All i need is a radio transmitter, a computer, a video card that can output RCA (or s-video and then get an adapter for RCA).

Tux, that's a pretty talented friend you got there! How much do these skateboarders and stunt bike guys weight though? Surely people can't do that sorta stuff and be heavy.

The cool thing about it is, usually the more of that kind of activity you do, the more weight you lose (assuming you are not already at minimal weight). I would imagine it would be quite a workout. I know since I got back into dirt bikes I've been losing weight like crazy. You wouldn't believe how much work it is racing through the woods in a hare scramble race, and I've got an engine on my bike!

cool stuff.

I loved both of those videos, it's been a while since i've seen any skate vids. Somehow, while the bike stuff is just as amazing, i think the skating looks better on film for some reason.

Tell you what those videos missed though, SLAMS! any skate vid i've ever seen has been full of slams! so how long did it take you guys to make a video with no slams in it?  :D

I cant be f'd downloading the Videos, I dont skatebored... I used to go on cheap scooters at 100kph down the lovly Autralian Hills  :D  Actually there was a rut in a footpath that got me 5m in the air, landing in a creek. It reminds me of the sort of thing that would happen in a Cartoon. My scooter is fucked, so i cant be bothered anymore. I just get fat!

I made a new video, its got a bunch of the sk8mafia homies in it.  I used quicktime this time instead of shitty flash, it's a much smaller file [7.4MB] and way better quality.

You can see the old video thats just me here. (http://www.illenium.com/sk8mafia/tito/)[8.1MB]

Tell me what you think...
