Well, I tried to update my Mandrake Linux today.
Using Windows Update. (http://tongue.gif)
I got to the Windows is looking for available updates screen, and then it froze:

And I wanted my Linux to be up-to-date (http://tongue.gif)

I doubt he does...if you look behind the window, he used Konqueror to get to the IE directory, not a shortcut. Likely, he uses Konqueror.
Oh, and if anyone has trouble getting the pic (like ThePreacher), here is an alternate link:

i would like to see a screenshot if anybody has actually done this!
incidentally, even with the xulplanet prefbar claiming i am using IE on windows xp, i still only get this far:

Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update software...
Depending on your connection speed, this might take a minute. During this time, you may receive one or more security warnings. Review each security warning to ensure that the content is signed by Microsoft, and then click Yes to install the software.

^ Calum, that's as far as anyone should be able to get. HOWEVER...
Seeing as he has IE on the system, and it's emulated, likely he *does* have the software somewhere, and Windows Update picked it up. However, when it tried to make system calls to find outdated software, it realized it couldn't, and stopped.

I have IE5 i think installed on my linux comp. I got some screen shots if someone wants to host them for me i could put them up. I only have it because for some reason installing office 2k in crossover office installs IE and WMP also. Both work flawlessly to i might add. Tried IE and it has no problems running in emulation. Probally better running in linux then in windows

I'm a bit confused after reading this. When did hell freeze over so that there would be an Internet Explorer for Linux !?
