Why not offer those $250,000 for everyone who uncovers a new Windows flaw?? :D

They may have a lot of money, but THAT much?
-
Indeed? How caan one offer a bounty when it was ones own fault? Thats almost as proposterus as Geroge Forman makeing a badly made grill and then blames people who found better uses for it.
-
Wouldn't it be intersting to see M$'s plan backfire? I think there's a possibility here that this new reward will actually make more virus writers get to work - and get caught on purpose. What better way to drain MS of their money? Someone writes a virus and has a friend or someone report them. Friend makes tons of money, and the programmer gets a share of it when he's released from prison if he makes it there in the first place. Would be like cyber-corporate suicide bombers.
-
Nah, Microsoft will probably hire the virius writers when they catch them
-
Update: Microsoft just offered a quarter of a million dollars for the head of the Doom virus author.

check this out.. this from a talk back from zdnet.com
"
Don't take his word, ask Bill Gates

"A high-volume system like (Windows) that has been
thoroughly tested will be by far the most secure,"
Gates said that in some ways, "hackers are good for
maturation" of the platform, because they have forced the
company to develop new inspection techniques for the
code.
So shouldn't Gates be paying that $250,000 to the virus
writers, after all, they're helping the "maturation" of
Windows.

I have to tell people over and over: "It's not normal for an operating system to give you a BSOD at the first sign of trouble.".
But I guess it takes a few years before they understand that Linux is way better.
-
Does anybody else think of the cowboy bebop movie?
Just wondering.

The Chinese Government are offering staff jobs ($300-ish a month) for virus writers & hackers regardless of past history. & with Whingedope source code being available (in part, or poss. all) as part of licencing agreement for MS China, & US Gov using MS megabucks deal for control of military, anyone want to make a fantastic leap of faith ending in "USA launches tactical nookelurr (Bushism) strike on USA and Allies?"
Hope I'm out when that happens.
