Title: What exactly is MSNBC??
Post by: Xeen on 17 September 2003, 02:07
I was just wondering what exactly is the news channel MSNBC? Is it part of NBC owned by Microsoft? Or is it Microsoft funding NBC news? Or what??

And I'm just interested...why on Earth did Bill Gates decide to make his own news channel?

Microsoft already owns most of the computer market. They probably want to leverage their monopoly to become another AOL (ie. own the media).

One of the bigger news networks that tries to copy CNN along with Fox News (and MSNBC apparently gets crap ratings from what I've heard).
