what type of music is everyone on this forum into anyhow? i think it may give some sort of light to people's personalities...
personally, i tend towards punk rock (misfits.....d'oh!) but lately i find myself returning to my metal phase (going to ozzfest with my crew if things bode properly)
but that's not it. i also dig jazz (dave brubeck) and ska (from the old stuff to the skate ska like LTJ) and some emo like Thursday and the pseudoHeroes.
how about younz all>?

hardcore.
bassicaly everything from Nickelback to Slipknot to Black Sabbath to Deep Purple to Pink Floyd to Nine Inch Nails.
-
Hmmm.... all the things you mentioned :D
Plus:
Lately I'm into alot of:
They Might Be Giants, Bad Religion, Tom Waits, Front 242, AAA, Anti-Flag, jeez... the list goes on.
I was always curious as to what VoidMan liked. I'm guessing Jazz or something like that, or maybe Country I mean, his politics sound a little to the right and all ;)
-
I'm pretty sure he is into more like... Deep Purple and Velvet Undrground (maybe a bit of Pink Floyd).
-
Hmmmm.....I see voidmain as a Thelonious Monk fan; you know, REALLY cool at all times, never flustered, and when you piss him off, it's all over instantly.
Personally, I'm a Frank Zappa fan. I think Zappa was not only a great musician, but a great American too. Lets put it this way, when president Havel of the Czech republic made Frank the Minister of Culture, Geo. Bush sr. sent his secretary of State to threaten Havel. He said that the U.S. would not give the Czech republic any aid as long as Frank Zappa was holding a government post. How cool is that???
Besides, anyone who can write a song like "Broken Hearts are for assholes" is OK in my book. :D

hmm,one likes techno like orbital and underworld. i also kinda like prodogy and praga khan. one that note, lords of acid are great, iv also been listen to nine inch nails and kmfdm. other then techno i like melodic death metal like cradle of filth. i also really like fear factory and sepultura.
-
lords of acid, huh....one of my (dude) friends used to listen to that....*eep* hehe ;)
Tom Waits...Yes.
that's all there is to say to that...
i like some of the older pre-punk bands like velvet underground et al.
so you're a nu-metaller then, Master of Reality? cool
anyone else?
-
Velvet underground is cool. Seputura and Nine Inch nails kick ass. I love Black Sabbath though. They are thh *dopest shit* (that was put in to mock rap... because rap sucks)
-
i dont mind some rap, as long as it's not like Eminem or that shit. i dig Beastie Boys, Outkast etc (it's not my favorite shit but i like it compared to say Limp Winky---er...)
nine inch nails have been one of my favorites since i was really small (like 11 or 12, lol)
Trent Reznor's home-town (not where he presently lives) is about 80 mi away from where i live. i've been to the high school where he went to school \m/
have you ever heard Pitchshifter? they're pretty awesome. i use their message board a lot...
-
the beatie boys are coolish. InterGalactic Guerilla Radio with Rage vs. Bestie Boys is cool.
-

I've got a CD collection that runs to about 650+ (that doesn't count MP3's I've got). My taste runs to Blues, in particular OLD recordings, because as a child of the'60's, I listened with abandon to artists like John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, The Stones, and any number of other people. These folks did covers of old blues tunes, but I didn't know that at the time, I thought they were new songs. One day I was saying how great I thought "Crossroads" by Cream was, and a buddy of mine played the original of it by Robert Johnson. It just plain stopped me dead, and since then, I've been trying to find original versions of a many tunes as I can; you wouldn't believe what the original of "Statesboro Blues" by Blind Willie McTell sounds like.

i love all that golden age and silver age blues stuff. And i love the high powered blues of the late sixties too, as you say, Cream, but also Mountain, Grand Funk, Canned Heat, Fleetwood Mac (the originals, not the hairdressers), Aerosmith et cetera. There's so much good music out there, but i like a lot of other stuff too!
