I'm just downloading this new game (http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/demo_linux.html) from Uplink.co.uk (http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/demo_linux.html).
(there's also a windows version if your operating system cannot cope with that version i linked to).
Anyway, it looks good but i won't be playing it till later, as it is midnight and i'm off to bed in a minute. Anybody played this? just thought it might be the sort of thing that the gamer people here might like... looks well good to me, and i'm quite discriminatory in my gaming preferences.

That is an awesome game. Definitely worth a download, and worth the price of purchase.
You'd be surprised how tense it gets when the trace detect program starts going off...

will dl once i re re re re re reinstall my linuxes (linii?)
i keep trashing my system trying to find the white smoke that makes it work

"linuces" should be the plural! :D (that allows for a Greek root (i think) though, which is totally wrong)

well when i tried to run the demo, i was told i did not have libglut.so.3, which is required. why i do not have it i do not know. i am currently downloading it from here (http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/redhat/6.2/i386/Mesa-3.2-2.i386.html), although i bet it's on my mandrake CD somewhere. Finding that particular file would have been murder though, since i didn't know what rpm (on the cd) it would be in.
The readme in the game said nothing about this.
I hate the old dependency-go-round...
