Title: Netfirms sold out??

Imagine my surprise when I used up all my bandwidth for the month in only six days at illfuckinghostit.com. I was just looking over netfirms, and have they discontinued their free service or something? The closest thing I can find is a 30 day trial. Anyone know what's up?

my host gives me 30gig of transfers a month, and i only use maybe 800mb, so there is alot of unused bandwidth each month. I could give you some space for image hosting. as long as your bandwidth usage doesnt get too crazy...

or you could just build a webserver.

Yes.. making my own server was the best dammed thing I ever did. Now I can host all my avatars and stuff with ease, as well as avatars and sigs for about 20+ other people.

Where do you start making one and how much does it cost (it must cost something otherwise everyone would have their own servers)?

I may take you up on that, Ecsyle, if I find out I'm too stupid to start my own server (which is most likely).

just get a dedicated machine and a good internet connection. might want to get a domain, but some subdomain from dyndns.org or something will do fine. I have no experience in mac servers, others might. once you get the machine and connection it's just a matter of setting up the services, which isn't really that hard. (at least i dont think so).

I've already setup a directory for you. Mostly because your tennis image wasn't showing up. So, if you want to space to use while you are setting up the server its ready to go. I will be on AIM for a bit, or rather, trillian, so if you want to get started, let me know...
