Title: Good Case
Post by: TheQuirk on 24 June 2002, 10:04
I'm planning to build a new computer. I want a nice case. Any suggestions?

Not Lian-Lis or any case that copies them!

I searched the web and found a few once.. Thought maybe someone here knows a killer case.

I made one out of plywood once. You can paint it any color you want. Or you can go exotic and stain it.

Apple's first machine was retailed with no case, so  it was actually the norm for people to make their own case out of wood! very cool.

I like the Lian-Li cases a lot, but if you don't want to go for them, you can try building your own case, or you can try one of these fun hacks... (http://www.applefritter.com/hacks/index.html)

Better yet. Make it out of full beer cans.  Then you always know where you can get beer in an emergency.

really the legos would work pretty well.  just epoxy a hacksawed hunk of your old case as the ground and mount block inside.  superglue the legos.  i think i may try that.
