Title: Nintendo Memory
Post by: Paladin9 on 4 May 2004, 08:25
Does anyone know how to reset the battery memory on a super nintendo cartridge?  I know turning it on and off a lot is supposed to maybe do it, but I want to know if there is a more official way of doing it.  There has to be.  I want to erase all the times and stuff from my super mario kart cartridge.

You can buy this red device for that (I once saw it). However, the chances of finding it are very low, so I guess you'll just have to break the seal :)

doesn't it have a clear data function? I know Mario Kart 64 did, but not Super Mario Kart.

otherwise try and see is a gameshark/genie would work.

Wait...a day?

Removing the battery from a RAM chip should kill it in about a second.  (http://redface.gif)

supposedly the battery is soddered in.  I do not want to risk fucking up my precious mario kart cartridge.  Also, I do not have the special screw driver for the screws they use.  Nintendo really does not want the wrong poeple opening these things.

I like to use a real snes and a real snes controller.  A keyboard is not so easy to use for playing snes.

Cool, but that all requires work and money.  I am poor and lazy.

Ah, the times of the SNES. How I loved them!

My favourite consoles are retro ones. I have a NES and a Megadrive in my bedroom, and I probably play them more than my newer consoles!

It's a shame the SNES belonged to my bro though. He sold it. IF it was mine, I'd definitely keep it!

My top three favourite games were:
Super Mario World
Donkey Kong Country
Super Probotector

1. I have no idea on how to get the battery out without buggering the cartridge
2. I'm new here, I'm trying to let people get to know me better
3. He's already recieved lots of help to try. If he's already tried it all, then help him some more
4. I'm only trying to make conversation
