Title: Scandal in israeli fooball
Post by: cahult on 23 September 2003, 08:09
Someone said earlier this day that he was from Israel. I read today about a scandal in israeli football. It seems four people, two players and two referees are involved in being bribed by unlawful betting organisations to fix games. At least they are accused of taking bribes.

This reminds me of a scandal in Hong Kong a few years back when a gang even shut all the lights out at a football stadium in England to please their masters who had betted on a draw!

He means soccer. And I'm the Israeli.

For what it's worth, I moved a few years back because of my parents here to the US, but this matter interests me. It wasn't Baetar Jerusalem, was it? Because they were once accused of doing such a thing, and they were my favorite soccer team.

he means football as in european football, or  "soccer" as we North Americans call it.

You wanna see some fixed games, watch the Korea games from the last world cup.  Game after game rediculous calls were being made at critical moments against Korea's opponents, takeing away goals and everything.  Wanna see more match fixing?  Try the Soule olympics, the the Roy Jones fight where he lost the gold metal...

It was Tel Aviv. They are all defying the charges as being ludicrous.

I'd expect something like that from Tel Aviv! Those bastards! I'll ask some Israeli friends about the matter.
