I saw a couple of interesting articles on Slashdot

one about MS's fight against spam here (http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/execmail/2003/06-24antispam-print.asp)

and a more recent one about an anti spam bill being shot down in California      here (http://news.com.com/2100-1028_3-1023020.html)

and who killed it? starts with an M..........

Ha ha ha,

M$ against spam?  They will say anything for good publicity.  They also claim to be dedicated to security.

Try opening a hotmail account watch how much spam it builds up in a week.

i find this very amusing seeing as how we always have to send them personal information to make our computer more "secure."  what a crock

No, you don't just need a hotmail account to get spammed using Windows. The first time I used XP, which was only a few nights ago, the first thing that happened when I logged into the guest account is about a zillion popups came up. Then while I was playing Warcraft III a popup opened and minimized the window at a critical part of the game and I lost as a result.

Those things are for idiots... (obviously, as they are targeting windows users), disabling messenger by:

a.) stop using windows
b.) turn off messenger (duh, just 8 clicks)
c.) buy software to do B for you

Both B and C will result in microsoft eventually finding out, you send them info to "improve" their os... so the next release you won't be able to do B or C.
