Hey, who deleted my AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! post??

Well, that's great that the ganim8 page works. Now could someone tell me how to download this thing? *confusion*
-
Well I can see why it would confuse you. Click on the "Download" link next to the GAnim8 seciton under File Releases.
Then click on the tarball/rpm you want.
-
Okay, now I have a bunch of weird files with weird folders in them.
-
Are you trying to install this on a Mac?
-
Openoffice 1.1 (http://www.openoffice.org/product/)

OpenOffice.org 1.1 gives you everything you'd expect in office software. You can create dynamic documents, analyse data, design eye-catching presentations, produce dramatic illustrations, and open up your databases. You can publish your work in Portable Document Format (.pdf), and release your graphics in FLASH (.swf) format - without needing any additional software.

Oh.

Yes. I didn't think that would make a difference since it's Unix.

I have no idea about getting X apps to work on OSX, but as far as I know at the very least you'd need to use fink to run it.
-
There doesn't seem to be a Fink version available (or BSD ports version, for that matter). You need the source code to make it run on non-Linux systems... but you have to get it from CVS, and I have no idea how to use that. Shame, I would have liked to try it on FreeBSD (yes, I know about the Linux compatibility mode, but it's very messy to copy the binaries and deal with the dependencies by hand, especially when it's a non-native program).

Maybe I'll just leave ganim8 alone then and see if I have Open Office around here somewhere (I think I do). Thanks anyway.

You don't have to use CVS, you just need to download the tarball. I doubt there's any binaries or compilation involved since it seems to all be written in python.
