Just got an Antec Celeron 1.7ghz pc, came with XP on it... first thing I did was reformat, partition, and setup dual boot Red Hat and 98se (for games)... Opened the case, found a CD buried in the bottom of the case, latched under some spare mounting brackets.... the label said it was the driver and restore disc... put it in to see what it was.... guess what, XP full version installer...
WHAT THE FUCK HAS THIS WORLD COME TO, other than becoming Micro$hit McEarth?
anyhoo, that CD is now the most well used coaster in the house.... (http://smile.gif)

That CD was lucky it didn't fall into my hands, I would have done much worse than make it a coaster. Many-an-unwanted CD has met its end at my hands.

Just think of the possibilities (http://members.tripod.com/~hochwald/microwave/micro.html).

What? You want them to do the same thing dell does? Store it on a hidden partition and eat up the HD space you paid for or something... You guys are just making less and less sense...

Fuck microwaves. The LUG that meets at my local University has a few postgrad Engineering / Chemistry students. As such Tesla coils and thermite can come into play. :D

Why yes Mr. Fork, you may come over for tea. Then we will have a lovely stroll on Mars. WAHAHAHAHHAAH!!!!!!!!!!

Or maybe they could just include it in the box or the user manual. What's the point of burying it in the CPU?

Note to self: never buy a Dell.

I bet you didnt know this, but windows 98se is a microsoft product too. Looks like ol Bill and microsoft have still gotten you. For windows games I use WineX 3.1 to play Sim City 4, Max Payne, and Warcraft3, and I also play native linux games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Quake 3, Unreal Tournament 2003, Enemy Territory, and Railroad Tycoon 2. I never kept windows around to play games, nothing is worse than the OS crashing in the middle of a map on rtcw.

at least you got the install cd. a few freinds got some pre-built machines, but never recieved the cd. i guess it used to be common practice to not give you the cd for your computer. dumb.

Yes, I know McWindows Mc98 is a Microshit product... I spent most of my life being a WinBorg drone... still learning how to use better things like RedHat... but 98 is there to run Descent: Freespace, and stuff like that... it's not anything newer because anything newer is more fucking bloatware, and can't be stopped from calling Billy at home... and IE5 kinda died ten minutes after installation from an acute case of IEradicator... turns out MozillaFirebird makes a good shell too... so (http://tongue.gif)
