i have heard a few things about it. like how does it run, does it run fast. do they include a c compiler and stuff and where could one by a arm/strongarm/xscale based system
-
i was asking those questions not long ago, and found my answer here:

they all look sweet, but what the fuck is vat, isn't that like value added tax, and about what does one unit of that currency come out to in units of american units of money. if the exchange is what i think it is, those machines are expensive but quick.

ummm 2k for that, like i have heard they are fast, but would they outdo a frankenstiend apple 9500 at say 400mhz g4 and a gig and a half of ram which would probably run me about $1000
-
it's not all bad though! i'm sure you can find slightly older machines for much less, you could even go here (http://www.simtec.co.uk/products/riscos/special.php3) and build yr own machine out of bits!
i've seen quite a few places that make this type of kit, so don't be disheartened! Personally i want an original BeBox!
edit - also, i wouldn't be surprised if it did outperform that 450Mhz apple machine, or whatever you said. From what i've heard said, those RISC chips are stupendously powerful per their megahertz compared with other chips...

an origanal bebox, go to ebay. costs alot though. what i really would want is a turbo next cube. doesn't even have to be color. but that would be another $400 for it. ill have to look into an older arm based system though, riscos looks pretty cool
