Title: Fahrenhype 9/11
Post by: skyman8081 on 9 September 2004, 03:21
Same rules from the civilized discussion apply here:

PLEASE READ THIS POST FIRST

In an attempt to see if it is possible to have a civilized political discussion, without resorting to flaming. Until now, this has largely been thought to be impossible, due to the anonymitity and lack of consequences of posting on the internet.

Therefore ANY AND ALL parties who wish to participate agree, by posting in this thread, that they will refrain from any and all form of Flaming, Ad hominem or any logical fallacy, Name-Calling of any kind, or swearing, whatsoever. At the first sign of those signs, this thread will be binned. This is why I am requesting the lounge mods to bin the thread at the first flame, derogatory term, improper logic, or swear word.

with that disclamer in place:

There is a new documentary film coming out to counterbalance Moore's film.  It is about the same amount of propaganda and lies, only from a slightly different direction.

I don't think Michael Moore has intended for "Fahrenheit 9-11" or any of his other films to be an honest representation of gospel truth.  The fact is, none of his films ever reaches a unifying point.  He merely presents a large amount of slanted information and asks us to draw our own conclusions.  Michael Moore is not asking us "Did George W. Bush destroy the World Trade Center?"  Instead, he is asking us "Isn't there some very suspicious evidence that some suspicious activity went on, which may or may not be coincidentally related?"  Face it, whether you agree or not, he is pretty funny, and does a really good job of making our leaders look like jackasses.  And they are.

However, I don't think that satire and posing-of-questions is the point of "Fahrenhype 9-11".  Judging by title and participants, it looks like it will be direct attacks on Michael Moore and direct support of the president's decisions.  Kinda like countering a "Saturday Night Live" skit with a Fox News Bulletin.

I personally find Ann Coulter to be an affront to all intelligent people.  I will personally avoid reading or watching anything she has to say.  I've had more than enough of her crap already.  Which sadly includes this movie.  I might watch it just for kicks if she wasn't in it.

What a bunch of crap. If Fahrenheit 9/11 was inaccurate, then this is pure rubbish. They call the fact that Iraq was a war for oil 'propaganda'? LOL.

Fahrenheit 9/11 is entertaining, nothing more.

Indeed. It doesn't go far enough to expose the corruption of the government and the discrepancies of the 9/11 story.

Many viewpoints in the world -- some people agree, others disagree

We may listen with patience.
