After fiddeling to death and not being able to make the F.A.Q how I like it, I decided to install a premade FAQ (a very god one, at that).
You can access it here:
http://www.belg88.com/faqman (http://www.belg88.com/faqman)
Anyone who wants to add enteries, PM me.

good. maybe a bit of design type tweaking, but thatl come.
now, how do we add stuff as a matter of course? or have you got all that worked out and i should just PM you if i have something to add, and youl tell me how? also, might i suggest having some direction on the site itself there for people who want to add stuff.
Very good overall, i am glad to see some result with the FAQ. i had almost lost hope!

Check your PM.

Allright Man. Thats is mucho cool.
I think though it should be a little bit more detailed. For example on how to uintar files. A person that doesnt know how to untar, when he untars will be totaly clueless on what to do next.
Want me to write a more detailed how to? I would love to.

Yes , I was just testing it out!
-
To make this topic more useful, does anyone want to add anything to the FAQ? Post it all here with a title, answer (content), and 4+ letter keywords (optional).
-
Anything??? I already have 10 posts!

Hey Quirk,
I seem to have missed this thread. I will write some stuff, probably on wine and any mandrake specific stuff.
-
Just email then to me (The F.A.Q on the F.A.Q in the F.A.Q has it. hehehe).

If there's anything I hate, it's FAQs that don't give you an "all on one page" option. Might I suggest Faq-O-Matic (http://faqomatic.sourceforge.net/)?
-
maybe there should be an all on one page thing on the FAQ too. Just list every single FAQ on one page alphabetically for the people who would like to use it (i like them)
-
okay. the faq is coming along fine now HOWEVER i have a few suggestions that i think could make or break the faq's popularity.
can we have a better system of organisation than just having alphabetical lists. some advanced querying thing is required particularly since many of the OSX/UNIX stuff will cross over.
Can people writing the FAQs get into the habit of signing them at the bootom, just makes them more believable if they have a name on them, also can we make a habit of having a 'see also' section at the bottom of faqs which might benefit from it, a la the man pages?
that's it so far, oh yes, i think i put it somewhere else, but the faq can also be reached using www.faqfuckmicrosoft.cjb.net (http://www.faqfuckmicrosoft.cjb.net) and www.faqfuckmicrosoft.tk (http://www.faqfuckmicrosoft.tk) if you can't remember the url...

calum, are you st00pid? take off the fucking popups from the .tk domain.
here are step by step instructions:
1. go to dot.tk and click on "My dot tk" then sign in.
2. once logged in, click on "My Marketing"
3. use the drop down bar to select domain you want to take ads of off.
3. click "continue"
4. Click on the radio button beside "no banner"
5. click "continue"
6. done.
if you need graphic aids, i could post screenshots of the links you must click on.
-
no, i'm not stupid, at least i know how to spell 'stupid'! ;)
i think though that you have overestimated my ability to give ashit about this. Anybody who's anybody will have popups blocked anyway, so nuts. I might well get round to that now you have brought it to my attention, but i can't say i have ever had much time to waste on dot.tk. They always seem very slow whenever i sign in there, and they routinely fail to open even when you give the correct user logon details. Nevertheless, for you, i will go out of my way.
Don't hold your breath though...

the konqueror users must deal with popups.

I've been meaning to migrate to something better -
that looks promising.

Since when? There's a setting to not allow popups in Konqueror, unless I have misunderstood you.
-
there is? oh.
well.... konqueror users still dont get tabs, ha! (not until kde 3.1 anyway)
