Title: trustworthy computing = treacherous computing?
Post by: Ice-9 on 22 October 2002, 15:59
You really have to read this article, there are some scary things in there

http://newsforge.com/newsforge/02/10/21/1449250.shtml?tid=19 (http://newsforge.com/newsforge/02/10/21/1449250.shtml?tid=19)

particularly this :
There are proposals already for U.S. laws that would require all computers to support treacherous computing, and to prohibit connecting old computers to the Internet

Very disturbing!!!!

Edit : Oh well, just noticed that there was a link to this very article in The Lounge so you probably all have read it by now.
Sorry for the double posting folks.
