On a wonderfull day I wanted too play HALO. I love this game sometimes a little too much because I'm making animal sounds... But that's not important! I started the game an opened Multiplayer and then I saw an update message. This is the point when my beautiful day was about to be ruined. The update started. AND THEN I SAW THE HORRIFYING 0.48 KBYTES/SEC! JEEZEUS CHRIST!!! Wtf is going on with Microsoft? MOTHERFUCKERS! They say that I must have a broadband connection to play in multiplayer. YES I HAVE ONE! WHY IS THIS SO FUCKING SLOW?

I personally don't like Halo. The gameplay is quite annoying.

I even think old games like Duke Nukem 3D provide much more fun than Halo single player.

And on the multiplayer issue, I like UT 2004, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, Team Fortres, Counter-Strike and Natural Selection the best.

Funny you mention this, cuz I did Windoze Update yesterday and was only getting 30K/sec (as opposed to my 150K/sec connection).

maybe they are running windows 95 SE (slow edition) on their servers. Servers like a 386 with 275 mb hd and 16 mb memory netconnection 16.2 k. For more then 3 billion comps or whatever.

i dunno, even in this case we should respect mik3roze$oft , then 90% PC users begins to update their system at once, think about those restless servs

Perhaps its your crappy connections? I have always gotten very fast downloads from Microsoft's site, or when I use windows update. And I have a very good connection.

I would hope that they have a cluster server...but otherwise its probably some quad-Xeon box with a few GB of ram.  Maybe they have a 100Mbps pipe to the main site.

Oh, and microsoft.com and windows update run .NET Server 2003.  Hotmail runs 2000 (possibly some FreeBSD as well).  MSN.com is Windows 2000.  They probably have separtate connections as well (the main site is slow even when MSN is fast).
