But, it's a flick that you either love or hate.

As for trying to "get" it... please don't. Baz Luhrmann called the style "Comedy Of The Heart". It's absurd, pointless comedy based on sight gags and simple things like the sound effects and cinematography. In Moulin Rouge, the movie itself is a character. Don't try to get it, just sit back, relax, laugh, and enjoy.

The movie was absurd, almost paranoid, that's for sure but then again that was the whole point. In a few words Baz Luhrman tried to reproduce the Bohemian frenzy in early 20th century Paris. He managed to do that succesfully up to a point but then started being superfluous and a bit boring.

Post by: voidmain on 26 November 2002, 21:51: What's wrong with port 6969? You can use anything really as long as it's anywhere from 1025 up to 65535 and it doesn't match a service entry in /etc/services. 6969 should pose no conflict and it's similar to your old port.
