Title: TAKING A BREAK FROM COMPUTERS: Politics
Post by: Paladin9 on 22 February 2004, 04:49
I love heated debates.

Somtimes I like to peal my eyes off of my computer screen and pay attention to the US presidential primaries.  I wanted to hear what people have to say about the current US president. My opinion: I hate Bush. He is a complete fucking retard. He is the worst president this cournty has ever had. I think a cucumber would make a better president. Now that he is president: the economy is horrible, 99% of the world hates us, we are involved in Iraq only for oil. Conservatives say we are there for other reasons but we are only there for oil, nothing else. Sure, we got Saddam, but that does not make the war worth it. I recall that dumb ass rush limbuagh saying that Iraq is related to the 9/11 attack JUST BECUASE they both hate us. That is not a good reason. France hates us too. Maybe France is involved as well? The whole thing is stupid. Those tax cuts arn't doin shit. Sure, the economy is doing well lately. Bush is saying that is becuase of his tax cuts. If his tax cuts are the reason they US economy is doing well lately, then WHY DID IT TAKE THREE FUCKING YEARS FOR IT TO START GETTING BETTER?!?!? (Puff, wheeze...) I think I am done ranting for now. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about that fucking moron that passes for a president?

Bush is the most appalling president I have ever seen in my life. Hopefully whoever will replace him is going to resiliate his insane policies and reverse the madness he created. But way too much credit has been attributed to Bush, who is for the most part a mindless puppet who follows whatever his PNAC cronies tell him to do (though I'm sure he is quite complacent with their suggestions). The ones we should be the most concerned about are the neoconservatives such as Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, who have ambitions of conquest well beyond (http://newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm) the Middle East.

Bush sucks so hard I'm ashamed to be american. I didn't think there were people who thought otherwise, except for the people who like him because he's republican. Anybody who says that are political sluts. It's like going out with a guy just because he's available.

I am glad to see that you guys hate him too. I too am almost ashamed to be american with Bush as president. Every time I hear Bush say something on the radio or TV I just shutter at how he sounds so much like an idiot. People flame Gore for saying "I invented the internet". Sure, that was a stupid thing to say, BUT BUSH HAS SAID A MILLION STUPID THINGS! "Do not missunderestimate me."   "The fool me can't get fooled again."   "...nor french or engish or mexican..."  "up east"   "if you dont stand for anything, you dont stand for anything"   "more and more of our imports are coming from overseas"

That is just a small fraction of the stupid shit Bushy boy has said. I think just the quotes I listed top what Gore said by a long shot.

Actually I think that was Dan Quayle.  :D

Also I don't think we're in Iraq for oil.  If we were, then why are gasoline prices so fucking high right now (compared to a few years ago)?!?

Because it benifits Bush. The harder it is to get oil the more expensive it is, the more expensive it is, the more dough Bush gets to buy a new Windows Longhorn Beta rig.

Mostly because 19-20,000 voters in Palm Beach County, FL (near me  :D ) were so fucking stupid, they "accidently" voted for Pat Buchanan instead of Al Gore.

But that goes to show what kind of people supported Gore.  :D

If it weren't for Nader the hollucinator we wouldn't have so many votes taken from Gore, and prehaps we'd actually know who he is.

That's just total bullshit. Visit this Green link (http://www.gp.org/organize/spoiled.html) for more information about this.

Agreed there, Refalm.  I DO support having a third party around... I'll support change if it's not the bullshit the Democrats do (speak now, act never).

If it wernt for that shit head Nader, Gore would have won. Now Nader just decided a day ago that he is going to run again! Democrats are really freaking out now, and so am I. Nader running again only increases the chance of Bush being re-elected.  Its not like Nader has a chance in hell at winning anyway.

Well, someone had their logic pills taken from them.

It's more likely that democrats will vote green than Republicans. Therefore, Gore lost the votes, not Bush.

Wow. You're blaming Nader for giving people the choice of voting for a candidate who reflects their ideologies better than the big parties? No one has to vote for Nader if they feel that their priority is to kick Bush out. I intensely detest that vile dirtbag and his companions, but wanting to deprive a candidate of his constitutional right to make a difference is quite hypocritical, considering that one of the major reasons that motivates people to kick Bush out in the first place is his unprecedented violations of the American Constitution.

Not all Greens are Democrats. Many of them would otherwise vote Republican because they want a party that takes action, as opposed to the 'all talk, act never' Democrats (at least in their opinion). Others are people who want a 'real difference' (again, question of opinion), or simply people who are Greens and would not vote for Democrats even if it were their only choice.

Thats what I said!  And it not like I think people should not have choices other then the two major parties, but that in 2000 just a few days before the november election nader should have told people to vote for gore and not him since the 2000 primaries had shown that Nader did not have a chance.  If Nader actually did well in this years primaries, then he should actually work at getting elected. Otherwise in november Nader should tell greens to vote for whoever the democrat is(likely Kerry) instead of him.  In the California recall election, there were over 100 canidates! that means someone could win with only like 15%! Fortunately that did not happen, I think Arnie got around 50% of the vote.

All this crap is why I think there should not be political parties.  Actually, George Washington warned against this but actually political parties were already forming not long before he died.

Why should he have stepped down? Why should he have endorsed Gore over Bush when he didn't believe there was a significant difference between the two parties? Sorry if I didn't follow the 2000 election too much, but how was he, or anyone, for that matter, supposed to know how bad Bush really was before he got elected? No one back then could have predicted the course of events, and neither could Nader have realised the consequences of Bush being elected.

You are right that we did not really yet realize that bush has shit for brains, but I think that almost all of the greens would have voted for gore if nader was not running. All in all, there really is no solution to this problem I am talking about, becuase like you said, other parties should be able to run. Its just that I find it frustating that the left, as a whole, split there votes between two canidates while there really was no non-republican right winger as popular as nader.  I just hope bush is not re-elected.  I think Kerry or Edwards are ok but I am not totaly crazy about either one of them. Just no more bush!

I agree there.  It's also quite egotistical - the Democrats think that they're the only other ones who could possibly win.  (http://redface.gif)

Its true! only reps and dems have a chance. Its not like I want it to be that way, its just a fact. And how am I hypocritical? When I said nader should not run, i did not say he should not BE ALLOWED to run.  He is only helping the right. That is a fact. You may not like it, and neither d I, but it is a fact. Also, I never said I was a democrat...

The dampers for the millenium Bridge (london somewhere) were delayed for almost two years 'cos the company building them got a rush order for recoil dampers for some unspecified customer. (for Dubya's guns as he tooled up for war). Strangely enough, when I was asking about this, nobody seemed to want to reply to emails....
Look at (ithink) Swissinfo.net (or something similar )for an unbiased-ish look at the news.
I notice www.whitehouse.gov (http://www.whitehouse.gov) searches using 'UN' pick up on lots of wonderful UN/USrelations but completely miss "bugging the UN Secretary-General's office and intercepting his emails"....
At least America intervenes in all countries with civil war, dictators and WMD that haven't been sanctioned by Uncle Sam - like North Korea (haha dubya),Burma,Tibet,Bhutan,Haiti, victims of opression (The Palestine), and doesn't restrict US interference to countries rich in natural resources like Afghanistan, Iraq, South Korea....

In Speech, Bush Calls Iraq, Iran and North Korea 'Axis of Evil"--
N.Y.Times, 1/30/02

ANGERED BY SNUBBING, LIBYA, CHINA, SYRIA FORM AXIS OF JUST AS EVIL.
Cuba, Sudan, Serbia Form Axis of Somewhat Evil; Other Nations Start Own Clubs.

Beijing, bitter after being snubbed for membership in the "Axis of Evil," Libya, China, and Syria today announced they had formed the "Axis of Just as Evil," which they said would be way eviler than that stupid Iran-Iraq-North Korea axis President Bush warned of his State of the Union address.
Axis of Evil members, however, immediately dismissed the new axis as having, for starters, a really dumb name.
"Right. They are Just as Evil... in their dreams!" declared North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. "Everybody knows we're the best evils... best at being evil... we're the best."
Diplomats from Syria denied they were jealous over being excluded, although they conceded they did ask if they could join the Axis of Evil.
"They told us it was full," said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
"An Axis can't have more than three countries," explained Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. "This is not my rule, it's tradition. In World War II you had Germany, Italy, and Japan in the evil Axis. So you can only have three. And a secret handshake. Ours is wicked cool."

THE AXIS PANDEMIC
International reaction to Bush's Axis of Evil declaration was swift, as within minutes, France surrendered.

Elsewhere, peer-conscious nations rushed to gain triumvirate status in what became a game of geopolitical chairs. Cuba, Sudan, and Serbia said they had formed the Axis of Somewhat Evil, forcing Somalia to join with Uganda and Myanmar in the Axis of Occasionally Evil, while Bulgaria, Indonesia and Russia established the Axis of Not So Much Evil Really As Just Generally Disagreeable.

With the criteria suddenly expanded and all the desirable clubs filling up, Sierra Leone, El Salvador, and Rwanda applied to be called the Axis of Countries That Aren't the Worst But Certainly Won't Be Asked to Host the Olympics; Canada, Mexico, and Australia formed the Axis of Nations That Are Actually Quite Nice But Secretly Have Nasty Thoughts About America, while Spain, Scotland, and New Zealand established the Axis of Countries That Be Allowed to Ask Sheep to Wear Lipstick.
"That's not a threat, really, just something we like to do," said Scottish Executive First Minister Jack McConnell.

While wondering if the other nations of the world weren't perhaps making fun of him, a cautious Bush granted approval for most axes, although he rejected the establishment of the Axis of Countries Whose Names End in "Guay," accusing one of its members of filing a false application.
Officials from Paraguay, Uruguay, and Chadguay denied the charges.

Israel, meanwhile, insisted it didn't want to join any Axis, but privately, world leaders said that's only because no one asked them.

PS:
I have nothing against America in general, just Dubya in particular and his lickspittle Blair as they dragged us into a 'war' (bullying) based on lies & half-truths.
And if USA averages 10500 gun deaths per year, how come noone's taken a potshot a Blubberya yet? Most occur in the home with a legally held/registered gun, and the Whitehouse has more of them than any other house in America....
I shouldn't pick on george, as, in the words of the immortal Mr.Garfield, "It's like swatting flies with a Buick".
