There absolutely MAD! Children that will get what's comming to them!

I don't agree with many ideas of the FSF, but how arrogant of them to make such a claim! They are trying to dictate the customers what's good for them!

The man talks complete bullshit. I can understand a company not wanting to give people the freedom to freely distribute their software but the end user has a right to the source code.

MS have changed their tune.
Before they claimed OSS was bad/evil/crap fullstop (Period).
Now it's "..er ...um OK for governments, but... hey guys it's bad/evil/crap for you ...right?"
It reminds me of Calum's sig, something Ghandi said about people turning their coats.

Wow, funny on how someone from microsoft said that open source is bad, and right now Linux (an open source OS) is one of microsoft's biggest threats. I wonder if they're just saying things to deter people form using Linux, but why would they do that? Oh well, lets just let them shove crap like this down our thoats. Let me rephrase that so that: baa baa baa baa baa baa baa baa baa baa baa.

For Mundie, open source just disturbs the development of the Brazilian software industry. He said that as few countries in the world speak Portuguese, copyright and proprietary source is a clear benefit.
What utter bullshit! Prior to the coming of Gates, there really was no such thing as proprietary, closed source soft. That's what had His Gatesness so pissed off when programmers started sharing, debugging, and improving that shitty little BASIC interpreter he wrote (with stolen "big iron" time, no less) for the Altair 8000. It wasn't "piracy" since that was what source code was: information to be shared, critiqued, worked on, improved. The concept that this was "stealing" was strictly His Gatesness' idea.
That was M$'s one and only true "innovation"

Nice try. I think there is something missing in your post, though.
How about giving intelligent arguments to prove your point?
-
Yes, open source is destroying the industry because the only thing in the industry according to them is Windows, so good.

UH??? You don't even know what open source is about! Open source isn't just a matter between you and a few partners! When you open your source, you make it freely available for the whole community to benefit of it, to modify it, correct some bugs, add some features or use it as part of their work. Whether you agree with this method or not is up to you, but at least make sure you know what the hell you're talking about.
<ad hominem>
Or unless you're just a troll and just want to attract attention. In that case, be my guest; this forum is starting to get boring. ;)

*yawn* thx I know what "open source" means..duh
and the bigger picture is there are TWO concepts...you keep it to yourself or you give it away.
I offered two situations, one..I kept it to myself and two...the guy didn't. Try to draw a comparison.
(I'll help if you need it)
SUN gotted F*cked by MS on Java cause they didn't "keep it to themselves". One "party" exposed themselves to another "second party" (in the case of "open source" this party would be "everyone" to which you refer [user "nobody" or "iusr_whatever", if that helps you understand]) and shouldn't have.
Everytime you make something open source you shoot yourself in the foot.
Try to draw comparisons here, this isn't math.
-
I don't entirely agree with the open source movement myself, but what you just posted doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I don't think you understand what open source is about, even if you think you do. Java isn't even open source; this has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

I'm NOT REFERING TO THE DAMN DEFINITION of OPEN SOURCE!!!!
I'm Talking about the concept of keeping industry secrets to yourself vs. NOT!!!
open souce totally bypasses that ability.
since you "don't entirely agree with open source movement" we should be on the same plain here, I don't get why you don't follow me

Am I the only one around here that understands the concept of intellectual property?
You got any music CD's there or just MP3's off the internet?

for some reason, i find you amusing

You would have much more credibility if you write in plain, clear, well-thought out sentences rather than overusing caps and exclamation marks. Also, you were very unclear when you were talking about how Sun got "f*cked up" by Microsoft, particularly where grammar was concerned. And I was not referring to the definition of open source, I was pointing out that you were using a inadequate example to illustrate a concept you did not seem to fully understand.

This is exactly what I consider a major weak point of open source. I did not say, however, that it did not have its advantages. This is why open source, like other business models, should be only be used if it benefits the company(provided, of course, that it does not hurt customers or competitors). For example, you might want to open source technologies which aren't exclusive anymore to accelerate their development and correct bugs, but it wouldn't make sense to do that if you invested millions in R&D to invent something totally new.

I understand that perfectly well. Maybe you should read my arguments in the thread on mp3 "sharing" in the Lounge.

Now you finally understand! We don't want to listen to you if you have horrible grammer and overuse the caps lock. If you're presenting a rational side of a disagreement, you have much more credibility if everything is well thought out. By the way, "condisending" is spelled condescending, asshole.

I've came to the conclusion that you're a troll. You post stuff just to get attention. That's why you shouldn't bother to post anything in the "Microsoft Operating Systems" or "Microsoft Hardware" forum, as it will be deleted or binned.

'Couldn't resist, but 'Grammer' is spelt 'Grammar'. Next time, be careful when you criticise someone else's spelling. :D

I was helping you out here, WindowsRULES. If you don't want my advice, then you are probably not interested in an intelligent debate, and there is nothing I can do for you.
And calling me a condescending prick is not going to help your reputation, or even discredit anything I have said.
Now please sod off, and come back when you have something useful to say.

lol, I went there and tried to save someone $30, but you where right they erased it. Told them how to fix something, no mean language at all. Just gave them directs to fix their problem for free and some stupid moderator erased it.
Oh well...you can lead the retards to water but can't make them drink

ah, ya whatever..most of the time I'm here is "drunk time" for me.
I have no fucking idea what any of you are saying.
