Microsoft's leafy corporate campus in Redmond, Washington, is beginning to look like the streets of New York, London and just about everywhere else: Wherever you go, white headphones dangle from peoples' ears.
To the growing frustration and annoyance of Microsoft's management, Apple Computer's iPod is wildly popular among Microsoft's workers.
"About 80 percent of Microsoft employees who have a portable music player have an iPod," said one source, a high-level manager who asked to remain anonymous. "It's pretty staggering."

Does Microsoft even have an mp3 player?

Dunno but they have a shitty compression codec. Seriously, does ANYONE use .wma?

I'm sure, Billy will get very angry about that and he will fire all those who use iPod (or even buy entire iPod developement team) :D

no microsoft don't have aportable music thing, they do software for other people's hardware, still and all, the fact that their employees use iPods means that those machines are definitely running apple software on them.
still, i don't see what the problem is, apple makes good hardware with good software, that's how they maintain their market niche, microsoft makes so-so software for generic hardware, that's how they maintain their market share majority (many more people are prepared to buy so-so stuff cheaply than buy good stuff for top dollar) so all this ipod thing means is that microsoft pays their employees too much! (or that their employees are not the mindless drones that the rest of microsoft's users are!)

It wouldn't surprise me if some Microsoft employees have an Apple Mac at home.
