Bad website, it only shows a screenshot of Quake II running in BeOS and someone chatting. That's it.

Look at my Chaos Killers website for a good example on how to make a clan website.

[LOL] yes it is in software. if you go see the readme, it explains why we (beos quakers) have to play in software. but when i get some ddr ram for my duron 1.3 (so i can finally use it) i think it will be able to easily tackle quake II in software GL !!!!!! :thumbup:
with a p-3 500 at 112mhz fsb (thats overclocked some what)
i get 22fps in software. its playable.

and with a celeron 400, i get 22fps in quake I software mode. (note this is with the hig-res texture pack)

cool huh? that just goes to prove the 'hard-core ness' of beos quake II players.

k- ive updated it. it gets updated everyday! so that's a great reason to check it out, and see what ive been up to.

it's got two banners, some kewl acsii , and i have put folders on the server such as 'pics' and 'downloads' so you can go see the all of the pics i have.

i also optimised the code to.

A few things:

- Links at bottom...WTF?
- The pics go off the screen edge  (even at 1152x864).  Scale them for the index page.
- Run HTML Tidy.  Not that your code is bad, but that thing seems to shrink everything I throw at it.  So, what the heck. ;)

no, i created it with stylededit which is a ascii text program with the BeOS. and i used http://www.pagetutour.com

I will retire styled edit and use a more sophisticated program, called 'pe'

yeah, well it's called
'bot bait'

and its what google uses to figure out if your page is relevant or not. by typing in words in google like 'car' and 'apple' and 'zither' and can look at the source at the first page that comes up,  i can then steal the code and paste it into mine.

Oh, I should just say...IMO Quake II was a fantastic game.  Most say that iD fell off after Quake...I say they didn't fall off until after this one.

PS: Hardware mode is better. :p  (I should get around to installing it in Linux.  Haven't played in ages.)

iD didn't fall off till after quake3...quake3 was/is brilliant and a very expansive engine as well.  Maaaannny games were based off the quake3 engine, even newer games like ET and RTCW. When iD made doom3...that was crap, not a very powerful engine....

though it is still interesting that you can play quake2 on BeOS. Can you play any modern games on it? :)

I agree that the engine of DOOM III isn't all that, but it's still a great game.

Write constructive critism, without calling people loosers. Write constructive critism rather then just it sucks. This can help people a lot and, part of the goal of Open Source is working together constructivly (if this were my board I would delete "it sucks" posts, however it is not).

It should ALWAYS be (Page Name) - (Site Name), the site can be further pointed out with a favicon anyway.

that is my main page. I do NOT care about the validation about that one. I had said that I updated my Hardware GL under BeOS page. Did you even look at that one?

I ended up was doing was

*wasting my time which i spent about an hour and a half using html tidy for beos
*screwing it up
*making the output file bigger
*i did get it down to 3 errors but then it looked so shitty and screwed up
*so i fixed it back and i have lots of errors
*if you have a problem with it having errors you can a:
fix it for me and make it look the same as I started out with
or b:
blow it out your ass

The "brightness" of it just kinda irks my eyeballs for some reason. I would consider some sort of patterned background - or no background at all.

An example of a pattern bakground would be the background picture of my Operation Flashpoint page.

Notice how incredibly tiny it is, yet it creates a nice texture effect when used as a background, and blends in with the ovarall green-brown military color scheme of the page...

Again, I like the layout of your page (elegant simplicity), but the bacground pic takes away from the overall aesthetics of the page.

You should just use fucking drupal like a normal luser (me) that doesn't know HTML or CSS. It will do your site a lot of good.
