Maybe we should just do that to you. Nobody is 'deleting' anyone's posts, though. If you'd like to flame every post he makes, have fun; the mature will just ignore you for the troll you are and go on with business. I think it's cute though that in order to make the forum (supposedly) better you feel like turning it into shit, just to (try) and prove your point. Grow up. Go get a hobby or start something useful so you can fill the void of being a miniature dictator on a forum. You've proven in this post exactly why your kind really needs to go.
BTW, nobody on the forum cares about teenage forum politics. If you want to improve the site quit whining about bureaucratic issues no one but you gives a damn about. As for me, this is my last post in this thread, and I suggest others do the same.

given the way this forum's been going, i think that you might even be.
the only reason i have been sticking around is because i still (yes, even now) have faith in some of the staff to resurrect this into a *discussion* forum, rather than an infantile bitchslap forum.
the moment my faith in this ability leaves me, i also leave this board.
however no amount of personal insults (which this is, and as such it is a violation of board rules, and shouldn't even still be here) will convince me that the forums are irretreivably down the crapper.
the only thing that would is if you all unanimously did say you preferred control over free speech.

i think actually you can disregard my last response, and simply read bedouin's response above. I couldn't agree more, and i don't really have anything to add, except that anybody who has lost faith in these forums should simply go elsewhere. for their own good, if not for other people's.

I am sick and tired of all this squabbling about what moderators should and should not be allowed to do. I have been entangled into this a year ago, pressured from both sides to bin or not bin certain threads, and I am not willing to play into that game again.
As long as I moderate in the lounge, I have the right to make my own decisions as to what threads should and should not remain. Since there is no trolling spree going on right now, then I am going to follow Bedouin's libertarian policy, whereby all restrictive rules previously set by Refalm have been rescinded, and only spam should be deleted.
Accordingly, this thread stays in the lounge, as well as the other ones; as annoying as I find those complaints, they do not qualify as spam. But if anyone ever tries to spam the boards to deliberately harrass me or any other moderator, as has happened during the previous flame war, then I will treat all of those posts as spam, no questions asked, and relentlessly. I will not accept the excuse of criticising forum policies; if anyone wants to criticise a moderator, then he should report him to the administrator.
If anyone wants to understand where I'm coming from, then they should take a look at the dead thread zone. I wish to keep the good relations I currently enjoy, and I am not willing to revive a war with any forum member. I want to put an end to those disputes for good, if I can help it.

The reason for my bin request was because this thread started as a flame thread targeted at Calum and I suppose as it hasn't continued as such it can stay and hopefully it will die a natural death soon anyway.

i have been doing this for a week, and so far EVERY single report from me has been ignored. By this i mean, all insulting posts against me have remained, and all unfairly deleted posts by me remain deleted. the asshat moderator brigade continue to persecute me while their teacher isn't looking, and nothing's changed. there are a few possible reasons for this...
If anyone wants to understand where I'm coming from, then they should take a look at the dead thread zone. I wish to keep the good relations I currently enjoy, and I am not willing to revive a war with any forum member. I want to put an end to those disputes for good, if I can help it.
and here's one of them now, "i wish to keep up the good relations I currently enjoy", nice and political, sing when you're winning and all that, but did you ever stop to think (any of you?) that being a moderator involves not only priveleges but responsibilities as well?

I fully understand that, but that does not mean I have the obligation to dig up old disputes. In fact, I believe, as I did when I was involved in the flame war, that one of my responsabilities as a moderator is to keep the forum orderly, and I have made clear in my previous post that I will not shy from taking action to achieve that goal even if it means being criticised.

What the fuck the only reason this place isn't as good as it used to be is because there are not as many regular posters as there used to be, but what do you expect when it's been shut down for a few months so we're still suffering from the loss of memebers.

Alright, Calum, I misinterpreted your post, but I will explain further. What happened a year ago was not merely one thread that specifically targetted a moderator; it was a member who continuously spammed the forum (and I say spam, not mere flaming) to annoy the moderators and blame them for censorship when they deleted them. I agree that this situation is annoying, but it is not what I consider spam.
That said, the member who posted this thread called for harrassing a moderator. This is how the flame war degenerated last time, and it seems to border on inciting spam, I would normally not accept this. However, as Aloone pointed out, the topic has changed into a discussion, and the original poster made clear that it was meant in jest, so it may be best, in this case, to simply let the thread die on its own.

i have no idea what the problem is, and frankly, i don't care, since i am no longer staff on this board, but i have been reporting offensive posts using that button. And as a normal user, i expect that that's all i should have to do to get some result.
is it possible one of your number has been intercepting my reports? if so/not, then i don't honestly care, you guys sort it out amongst yourselves, if you want, i only said it to try and be helpful, not to incite remarks about paranoia.
