i juz discovered that there are 25 url in my in my homepage box that cannot be cleared off (as in when i juz key in "h" all the url will appear) . and apparently it is due to my history file that cannot be clear off. i have tried deleting files and clearing cookies and clearing history folder but all the url remain there despite doing the abovementioned. anyone can advise how to clear off those junks that sit in the system?

That annoying behavior is just one of the reasons I use FireFox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox) with PrefBar (http://prefbar.mozdev.org). Three little buttons let me clear my cache, history, and location bar with a click of the mouse.

Why take complicated lane when you can take easy street?
Get Firefox (http://www.getfirefox.com/), it's better than IE 6.

Click on tool/options.
Click the clear history and temporary Internet files buttons on the general tab.
Log on to http://www.GetFireFox.com download and install the latest version of FireFox and never use Microsoft Internet Explorer again.

No need for that. Proposing an alternative browser like Firefox is just fine.
And just for the sake of choice, I also recommend Opera (http://www.opera.com/).

How about Konqueror? :D

On Windows?
Just thinking it'd be cool if they could port KDE to Windows.
Gnome would be a far easier task as there's already a Windows port of the GTK, it would be a bit slow as I've notice with many GTK applications running under Windows.

Yeah. I guess not only GTK, my Openoffice and Thunderbird are both rather slow.

OpenOffice and thunderbird don't use GTK, anyway I've found OpenOffice faster on Windows but that would be an unfair comparason because I've only used OO 1.1.2 on Linux and I'm currently using OO 2 beta. I don't know about thunder bird as I don't use it.

hey I am here and I can help you. I am a computer tech support guy.
IE has a secret folder where it keeps all the shit it piles up fragmenting your harddisk away and eventually making your computer crap. obviously, this folder is hidden from view with explorer and IE. you will need a program that doesnt hide you from your own OS. the folder is named 'content.ie5' and with that you will also find a file called index.dat this is not viewalbe normally as you will need anotherprogram to view it properly.
first, get the freeware program called 'xen' and ask it to do a major cleanup pressing the 'z' key. this will clean up all the history, urls, and that content.ie5 folder as well... and then scandisk, defrag. leave this on over night.
here it is: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mrx9000/downloads/xen.zip (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mrx9000/downloads/xen.zip)
this will clear your recent mru urls as well. ps- before you do this download opera
www.opera.com (http://www.opera.com) because firefox is alot slower than opera and most IE users like opera better.
also just get firefox because it will make the other guyz in this forum happy.

Or Opera (http://www.opera.com/), which is worth the 23 Euros.
