I'm getting kinda tired of the constant wankfest for Ubuntu Linux, It's a good distro, but it IS NOT the end all be all of linux like you make it out to be.
There are other distro's and Operating Systems that are just as good as, if not better than, Ubuntu Linux.
It's just a Linux Distro, not the Second coming, or God's gift the the OS market. Stop wanking it, seriously.

Seriously, Ubuntu isn't everything, but I haven't seen anything better...

Agreed, the Ubuntu bukkake is disturbing.
Hopefully it will prepare the new guys for Debian or Slackware but, at the end of the day, I don't see where Ubuntu trumps Mandrake/Mandrive, SUSE or Fedora except in that it is more streamlined.

ive tried ubuntu and i hated it:
i could not mount smb shares with mount -t smbfs as it kept just making errors
it didnt even ask you for a root pass during install so i never got to the root account before i removed it
i find that out of everything ive tried these are the best:
fedora core (for pcs)
debian GNU/Linux 3.1 (for servers or any machine u want a non-rpm distro on)

Don't let it get to you. I've seen the same damn thing from time to time involving Mandrake, SuSE, Fedora, Libranet. So Ubuntu seems to have caught all the attention this time. It'll pass soon enough.
