Title: Debian 3.1 install

Hi! I'm quite an old linux user! I've tried a lot of distributions but now i want to try out Debian 3.1. I was amased when i browsed their download site to find 14 cds or more for debian 3.1 r0. i don't know which cd i need to do the install. I's a lot to download all the cds. Can someone help me? :eek:

Download the net install CD.

What kind of connection do i need to perform a net install? I have a cable connection of 768kbs and my modem is an usb modem.

Most of those 14 CDs contain software. The Deb repository is enormous, and it's doubtful that you would need every bit of it. You can install Deb with just a single CD, then use apt-get to load up on software.

Go here: Daily CD Images (http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/daily) to select the ISO file that'll work on your system.
