A beta version of Windows Vista is out and ready for testers. Although only a beta version it is big, 2,47 gigs!
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/default.mspx (Annorax edit: MSDN subscription required to download, good luck getting a LEGAL copy...)
Here
-
i am going to download it and see if it will run on my 266MHz K6-2 machine
-
I'm not aware of the legal issues behind windows vista beta, but I hope that link is legal.
Also, who would want to run a beta OS?
-
i do to see how much CPU power it needs to run it, because in the screen shots it has way to much eyecandy
-
Isn't it supposed to scale based on system configuration, so if your system is underpowered, it adjusts itself? Or was that another thing they removed in order to push the product out?
-
i dont no but from screen shots i have seen, there is so much eyecandy and the each button is like an 1/8 of the screen. i am downloading it and i am going to way underclock my ststem snd see what happens.

Yeah, but they don't think it'll scale down to below 1GHz machines.

the code might 64bit native and they had to add extra code to make it run on 32bit machines but your explanation is more likely

THANK YOU. I've been waiting for someone to say this for weeks. (Not just to MsX, but in general.)
