Take a number, pal.
We've had to temporarily suspend our offer of free e-mail aliases for a number of reasons. As part of the site's recent identity change, we underwent an unexpected (i.e., emergency) server migration, and not everything was in place for a while.
Then we noticed an incredible amount of abuse of the free e-mail aliases. So we had to unfortunately take the radically drastic move of wiping them all out. This was painful, considering that there were literally thousands of them (though most were inactive). If you're smart and resourceful enough to drop us a line (notice that we're making you work to find out how to e-mail us), we'll re-add your alias manually.
And soon, we'll be back to taking your e-mail requests, with a brand-new, fully automated, verification system. And you'll even be able to change where your address forwards online as well. When will this be done? We're hoping for some time this summer. So feel free to bookmark this page and check back later. We aren't going anywhere. (Well, hopefully.)
That doesn't mean you can't still order a shiny, full-featured POP account, though; those accounts were unaffected. (Hey, it's what you get for spending a little money.) In the meantime, we appreciate your patience, and thank you for your support.
