Finally, two mouse buttons.
Although it will confuse the user of course :p
-
i would only ever consider getting it for my powerbook if they had a bluetooth edition (really looking for a good two-button bluetooth mouse so i don't need to use up one of my two usb-ports for a mouse) and if it wasn't absurdly expensive
-
Hmm, wonder how this would feel for gaming. Are these in stock yet at the Apple store? I need to try one in person.
-
I want one.
-
I tried one at the Apple store today and it's pretty cool. The scroll wheel seemed very sensitive, but I think you can probably adjust that. There's literally no physical indication of any buttons, and right clicking only works if you use your middle finger. The reason I quit using the original Apple mouse was because it didn't work well for first-person shooters; the Mighty Mouse is similarly handicapped for FPS gaming.
I'll stick with my Logitech dual-optical.
-
I dont play games and I already use my middle finger to right click. Im going to order one tomorrow :)
-
Yeah, it's a cool product, just not for me. The ability to scroll horizontally is definitely a step forward.
-
i like it! :D
-
that thing is awesome, but they should have an option for a regular left click button for FPS games
-
anything is better than the iMac iPuck
-
i had to use one of those in school, it was painful

yes! bad ergonomics, very bad. my fingers would curl over the top of the mouse and they would cramp up.
-
i had to keep my fingers in a demented arch type thing, The whole mouse fit inside my palm.

They haven't sold those for years....

You're not supposed to hold the mouse with your palm. You're supposed to move it with the tips of your fingers.
-
I know i didnt like using with my fingers either

I dislike those mice. I like to move my mouse with my hand.
Logitech rules.

i still remember the discomfort.

try doing that with big mitts and then you'll see my frustration.

I don't particularly mind the puck mouse. I have a Logitech mouse, and when I use it I move it with my fingers without actually grasping the mouse. It's less tiresome for the wrist.
But then, maybe that's why I now use a trackball.

I hear about a lot of people liking the new mouse, but being put off by the lack of bluetooth. Apple would be crazy not to release a wireless version sometime soon.
And who needs your silly mice when there is a command-line....
-
UT2004 wouldn't work to great with a command line
-
Quake III does work quite well (http://webpages.mr.net/bobz/ttyquake/) in the command line, though.
-
Did anyone see this guy
-
Good job Apple, you fucked up another mouse. It doesn't matter, the rabid fans will buy it as long as it has a white plastic shell and the Apple logo on it.
-
I messed with one today... the main buttons are... um... wierd? You can't really feel them. The two side buttons are an annoyance, because of the strange low-acceleration of Apple mice and OS X, you have to very often pick up your mouse and move it. It's especially bad when dragging, and you need to keep the button down, but there's no place to hold now that there's side-buttons. I guess they intend for you to us click-lock?
I dunno. Seems like just a regular 2-button scroll mouse might have been a better starting point.
