I wonder could you view it through the web-browser of eyeOS (http://www.eyeos.org/) (a web-based operating system, it has a browser too). Try the demo.
It's not blocked in my school. I think our school and a few others (no idea how many) share a config for that blocker-thing.
-
Microsuck. Get it? ;)
My school doesn't block it. There's plenty of ways around school filters, though.
-
Try going through a proxy ... if they didn't block them either :( ... I don't understand why they would do that ... there's no pr0n here ... most of the time, like every other forum I've been to ... the bastards
-
Is there a way we can contact FortiGuard that this website isn't about German scheisse pr0n? :p
-
I blame Kintaro.
-
I don't think that my school even has computers :(

Hmm. I thought FortiGuard was the name of the software and the system administrator would configure which sites are blocked. Our network in school uses FortiGuard too, and (last I cheked. About a week ago) microsuck isn't blocked.

Contact the people (http://vsb.bc.ca) running the schools. FortiGaurd dosn't do jack.

This site isn't blocked at work but some threads are because they contain "questionable words or phrases". I don't this understand because it lets some threads that contain swearing like fuck and shit but other threads are blocked despite not containing a single swear word.

Try this (http://www.browsingwork.com/index.php?hl=0111110001&q=uggc://jjj.zvpebfhpx.pbz/sbehzf) cgi proxy link to this forum ... It has worked for me before (bypasses simple filters) or one of these (http://proxy.org/cgi_proxies.shtml)
-
No wonder we get so many trolls reincarnating.
This won't work for me at work as the filter actually scans the pages and blocks everything it sees which it thinks is not work related, including some sites relevant to my job.
-
If my employer filtered my internet content, that's when I would start looking for a new job. Fortunately, here at the university, nothing is blocked but outside access.

Well, that's not good ... what kind of solution is that ? What the fuck is the world coming to when they block absolutely everything that is not work related, and even some stuff that is ?! :scared: I'd at least protest against it until they change it ... and at most quit. I don't understand the reasoning behind such a policy ... have you ever tried to question it ? I mean if your 'productivity' drops (like if you spend most of your time on non-work related sites) they can just fire you ... but to completely restrict your internet as if you needed constant supervision ... would you call that a job ?

Because you should have the right to look at whatever you want or another person's computer and internet connection.

I don't think I ever said or implied that. It most certainly is not my right to do anything with someone else's computer. But I would consider internet filtration to be unneccessarily fascistic, and indicative of deeper problems. If you can't surf the net without creating security problems, your network is shit. And if an employer gives a crap about what I do in front of my computer when my work is completed, then they are shit too.

I will actually send them an email tonight.
EDIT:
Dear Administrator:
It has come to my attention that http://www.microsuck.com has been blocked from access by your students and staff due to "pornography". Microsuck is the website of the Microsoft Eradication Society, a community dedicated to education about and promotion of open-source and other alternatives to Microsoft products and the eventual end to Microsoft's near-monopolies on operating system and other software.
We do not condone or allow the posting of pornography or other offensive or unlawful materials, and remove such postings immediately upon our becoming aware of them. The message which we believe triggered your blocking software has been removed. We request that you review our website and forums and remove the block on them as soon as possible.
Thank you.

The Vanouver school district is using M$ Content Management $ervice4. I hate those damn content blocker programs.

My school recently switched to Websense filtering...infamous for pissing off Maddox.

I don't have internet access at my work. I'm there to work not surf.

Of those of us who do have access at work, some are allowed to spend limited amounts of idle time on personal persuits. The job I'm applying for is Medicare inbound telephone support. The call center is an overflow center, which means employees get like one call an hour and the rest of the time, the employees are free to do whatever they please, within reason.

That's a pity, 2000 would've been a better choice. ;)

Well, we're blocked in my school too. And I found out that my school uses this (http://fortinet.com/FortiGuardCenter/webfiltering.html). I've applied to have it rechecked (under the category of education). Although, I forgot to leave the comment "Pornographic content removed". Someone else may apply themselves and leave that comment, or similar.

Well, it seems to be okay now:
The URL http://www.microsuck.com/ is categorized as

-
The URL http://www.dognoodle99.cjb.net/bsod is categorized as
Society and Lifestyles
lol...
The URL http://www.newamericancentury.org/ is categorized as
General Organizations
This should fall under Advocacy Groups, but it does not. How odd.

Anyone who prevents someone from browsing whatever that someone wants to browse should be taken to a nearby wall and shot*.
Unless they can explain to me how someone's browsing something is gonna affect another something (aren't humans things?) in a bad way.
* In the face.

I've once helped a school to install filtering software.
No one wants kids like you browsing porn at school.
