Hmm, my Lexmark Z52 runs fine under Linux, the only problem being that the color saturation with gimp-print is too low by default.  The mysterious behavior of the ink cartridges is a another story; but I rather like the printer.

What?  Of course I have.  I'm a nerd, and I've been here much longer than the Z52 has. ;)  I've owned a HP DeskJet 500C (RIP...I think it's broken, but haven't bothered with it really), an OfficeJet 710 (still works great, it's my dad's), and an HP 3820 that broke.  Although the Z52 doesn't have the sheer reliability of the 500C (or the 710 in some cases, but even it suffers from paper roller issues sometimes), I still like it because it's fast and prints pretty damn good photos.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say, my school uses Lexmark T640 network laser printers, and they fucking kick ass.  17 pages in 25 seconds anybody?

I use a old Parallel port black & white HP LaserJet 6L, lol. No problems under every OS I've tried that has the driver. Its fairly reliable, only problem is is that I need to feed the papers individually into the printer because it will grab all the sheets, get jammed, and crinkles all the papers...
Operating System Advocacy. I've given up on the Microsuck project, as well as any of the minisite spinoffs. You can still view the new beta site, though!

It's funny how far this has gone off-topic, can we stick to the topic of Halo 2 PC please?

Is there more to say about Halo 2 .... other than it sucks ass ?

I gotta admit Lexmarks do print fast, but they get jammed quite often, and the ink dries on the cartrige, and then you gotta clean it off ... and then they get jammed again ... I prefer reliability to speed ... when will I ever need to print stuff fast ?

HP Deskjet 3845 USB here, plugged into my lan server and shared over all my machines with CUPS, the HPLIP drivers from apt work prefectly with it, before this i had 2 other printers, an Epson stylus C44UX which took me days to get running under linux and broke after a couple of years, and before that a lexmark Z13 that i never got running under linux.

c) usb devices work better on windows at the moment

Correction: some usb devices work better on windows, mostly because corporations only release drivers for windows, and won't help if it doesn't work otherwise.
I haven't tried Linux yet (too big to download @ 28.8kbps, and I'm too cheap to buy a disk), but my OpenBSD laptop has problems with my USB keychain for some reason. That and Half-life 2 are the only reasons I use Windows. I know I could use WINE or WineX or etc., but my PoS PC is too slow to get a decent framerate.

The latency for satellite connections is somewhat bothersome. I suggest you order a free UBUNTU CD :)
