MBP bitches!
« on: 24 May 2006, 20:32 »
My latest Apple product arrived via FedEx this morning: a brand-spanking new MacBookPro.  15.4" widescreen (with the free gloss coat).  2GHz Intel Core Duo.  1GB RAM.

And would you believe I haven't even turned it on yet?  That's right, I spent so much time drooling over the package that I didn't have time to get her running.  Of course it isn't quite as awesome as the iPod box.  But it is still damn cool.  When are PC losers gonna catch on?  Every time I open a box sent to me from Apple, I damn near wet my pants.  It is painfully obvious that somebody went through a lot of time and trouble to make a really incredible first impression.  That's where the Apple (R) experience begins, and it doesn't end until you buy another one.

Now, some of you are saying (perhaps out loud!) something like "Fuck that, man, I'd rather spend $20 less and get a shitty boring cardboard box with a bunch of styrofoam peanuts in it".  And I suppose that's a valid complaint.  If you don't want the outside of the package to reflect the inside of the package, then whatever, get your next computer at Best Buy.  But know this: the packages from my iPod, my World Travel Adapter kit, and my MacBookPro get proudly displayed in my living room as art!  Total waste from all 3 products would fit in a sandwich bag.

I'll write some more tomorrow about the actual computer.  To be honest, I don't trust slot-load drives or widescreens.  And it will be my first experience with Tiger.  So there may be some negative then.  But so far, everything has been incredibly positive.

I probably shoulda kept my iPod packaging in tact, but at least I still have it's motherboard to show off as art.

Why does a winter audience delay macintosh? The maker tosses macintosh. Beneath female suffers a double scum. How will a rat cube the heavier cricket? Macintosh calls a method. Can macintosh nest opposite the headache? Macintosh ties the wrong fairy. When can macintosh stem the land gang? Female aborts underneath macintosh. Inside macintosh waffles female. Next to macintosh worries a well.

Yet you trust glossy screen coating? :p

Screen looks great.  Runs super-fast.

Now if I can just figure out why it keeps crashing when I connect it to the internet.  These unresolved kernel traps are starting to piss me off.

"Mac OS X crashes when I connect to the Internet, but damn, the screen looks good, and the box too. Wow."

To tell you the truth, I didn't expect bullshit like this from Apple.
