The movie was called Capricorn One, and it was about a fake Mars landing.  The astronauts knew, but were forced by the government to go along with it.  Story was inspired by rumors at the time (1978) that the moon landing was faked.

OJ Simpson was in that movie...

Yeah that one. Really a fake moon, or Mars landing wouldn't be all that hard to conjure up. After all, areas in Nevada and the likes were used to test Mars rovers and other bots. With the camera, you would just need to put a reddish filter over it.
